Merger with Self Unlimited
A key part of Hft’s strategy is growth. This is important so we can meet the changing needs of local authorities and commissioners, develop specialist person-centred services and secure our long-term financial future. So when the opportunity to merge with Self Unlimited – a charity with a similar history and values to Hft - arose, we decided that joining forces was a great way of ensuring a mutually successful future.
So, in April 2013, Hft and Self Unlimited formally merged, creating a charity that now supports more than 2,500 people with learning disabilities nationwide to achieve greater independence and fulfilled lives.
Like us, Self Unlimited shared our ambition of encouraging supported living within the community wherever possible, and providing quality support that promotes choice for the people we support, while also providing good value for money. The merged organisation remains passionate about retaining this ethos and continuing to develop services that keep the people we support at the centre of everything we do.
What does the merged organisation look like?
