What you can do
Volunteering with Hft can be a really rewarding way to spend your spare time, and there are plenty of different and flexible ways to get involved.
Volunteering gives you great opportunities to meet new people, participate in your local community and learn new skills. It could even help you to find paid employment.
We support our volunteers to do the best they can, whether that’s through on-the-job training, providing information packs, covering travel expenses where appropriate or giving you other specific support needed for your volunteering role.
Some of the ways you can support us as a volunteer include:
Supporting adults with learning disabilities at Hft services
We have many services across the UK. You could support local people with learning disabilities on a weekly outing, in their home or with their garden.
Fundraising
We run all kinds of events to raise money for Hft, from marathons to cake sales, and volunteers often play an important role in the running of these events.
Luv2meetU
Luv2meetU is Hft’s friendship and dating agency which currently operates in the north of England. Volunteers can have fun supporting people with learning disabilities during social events like theatre trips, themed party nights and discos.
Find out what volunteering opportunities there are in your area by visiting Our Locations section and contacting your local service.
