Described by followers on Twitter as Awesome with a capital “A”, fascinating, fantastic, brilliant, creative, excellent and great, the North London architect has raised over £1700 in sponsorship for his hour on the plinth in support of our work across the UK for people with learning disabilities.
Tim designed an acetate tube featuring the newly designed Hft logo. The tube was raised onto the plinth pedestal by a basket crane and from within the tube he proceeded to make a 360° drawing of Trafalgar Square which is being auctioned on eBay.
The finished drawing will be on eBay from 24th July - click here to bid for it
All monies raised from the auction will go towards Hft.
Tim chose to dedicate his hour on the plinth to Hft and to raise money for the charity because of the support we have given to his youngest sister, Martha, and to hundreds of other people with learning disabilities and their families throughout the country.
Martha was there on the day, together with a group of people from our service in Kent, to cheer her brother on from the base of the plinth.
A married father of three, Mr Bushe was one of the first 615 individuals randomly chosen by computer to participate in Antony Gormley’s One & Other scheme.
"Hft’s vision is for people with learning disabilities to live the lives they want and choose”, said Mr Bushe. Hft is committed to finding ways to encourage peopleto lead independent and fulfilling lives and supporting them to achieve this, all of which fits in well with Gormley’s vision for the plinth, ‘to reflect on the diversity, vulnerability and particularity of the individual in contemporary society’.”
