Steve raises £500 in run for Hft

Steve Newson from Cambridge, joined a host of celebrities and over 15,000 runners in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday, 11th October, raising over £500 for Hft.

He completed the 13.1 mile route which runs across four of London’s Royal Parks - Hyde Park, St. James’s Park, Kensington Gardens and Green Park, in just 2 hours and 14 minutes.

This was Steve’s first half marathon and eager for more, he has already signed up to run for Hft again in the Milton Keynes Half Marathon next March.He is also hoping to join the Hft team running in the British 10K London Run in July 2010.

Hft is a national charity which provides local support for people with learning disabilities in the South East of England through service and advice at Hft Bedfordshire, Hft Herts and Essex, Hft Kent and Hft Kingston.The charity focuses on offering a creative and resourceful approach to supporting individuals to make choices about the way they want to live their lives.
