Hft Kent

The team at Hft Kent work with lots of people with learning disabilities across Kent.

We recognise everyone as an individual with different hopes and needs.

Because we’re local, we know what it’s like to live, work and socialise here. We want to work in partnership with you, your families or whoever else is important to you to provide you with what you need now and in the future.

Together we can produce a plan full of creative solutions that use the most up to date ideas to lead a full and varied life in the local community. Also, as more people take over their own budgets and finances, we can make sure you get the best value for your money.

We work closely with the local authorities and other agencies and together we can support your education, healthcare, housing and work requirements. We can guide you on what needs to be done or who you need to involve in order to set up the lifestyle you want.

So for instance, you might consider using us to make some big, exciting lifestyle changes such as making that step from registered care, school and college to a more independent life or maybe finding work where we also make sure that you’re settled into your new job.

Or it might simply be that we go to the pub together for a weekly drink or you need a shopping companion. Whatever it is, you can use us to make sure that you live the way you want.

You might just need us for a few hours per week to 24 hours a day or for weekends, evenings in or outside the family home or during short breaks and holidays. Whatever your needs are, we are totally flexible and creative in our approach. This means that if things change in your life, we will be happy to adapt the way we support you.
