Supporting People with Learning Disabilities

Appeals

Through launching major fundraising appeals, HFT is able to provide new buildings and services, and to adapt our existing buildings to meet the changing needs of people with learning disabilities. 

For example we are currently trying to reach our target of £2.3m to fund the redevelopment at Herts and Essex  which has created a totally new service for the 42 people with learning disabilities currently living there, as well as creating nine new places on site at Orford and in the wider community. Our plans have resulted in new and improved accommodation, giving individually tailored services and specialist care for people with Autism and Dementia.

Likewise in Cornwall, we need to raise the shortfall on our £1m Appeal to fund a new Respite Centre which is now helping 80 families in the area.

At our original service in Gloucestershire - Frocester Manor, a major re-development has taken place, to improve the quality of life for all who live there.  The £825,000 improvements were made to enable us to meet the needs of people as they get older.  We also need to fundraise for the shortfall for this project.
