HFT is currently fundraising Door to Door in the UK. We ask people to pledge a small donation every month.
What is door to door fundraising?
Professional fundraisers visit homes to collect, via Direct Debit, regular monthly donations for charity. In the case of HFT, the teams of fundraisers work through a fundraising organisation, Future Fundraising.
Why does HFT use this method of fundraising?
Door to door is a safe, secure and proven method of recruiting new, regular donors and is cost-effective. It is particularly successful in recruiting supporters who have tended not to respond to other types of fundraising and want to be asked before they donate.
Who are the fundraisers and how will I know they are genuine?
The fundraisers are typically aged 20-35. They work between 12.30-8.30pm and are dressed smartly with a red and white HFT tabard on top. They carry ID cards with their photo on.
What do I do if I wish to make a query or a complaint?
Please contact Anne Jones on 0117 9302689 during office hours. An answerphone operates outside these hours.
What information is needed in order to action a complaint?
Is this type of fundraising regulated?
The Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA) is a self regulating membership body established to co-ordinate fundraising activity and promote quality, integrity and transparency. The PFRA works with charities, professional fundraising organisations, Local Authorities and the Police to ensure high standards in the industry and to resolve complaints. All fundraisers carry a copy of the PFRA Code of Practice.
HFT was one of the first charities to achieve re-accreditation by the PFRA and received their certificate in a ceremony which took place in London on 6 April 2006. To qualify, high standards must be maintained by both the charity and the fundraisers, particularly in relation to fundraiser training, handling direct debit donations and customer care in dealing with donors.
