At HFT we value diversity and we work to ensure that people with learning disabilities have the opportunity to develop skills and experiences.

One of the most exciting opportunities for our services users is the chance to go into work either on a paid or on a voluntary basis. Our day services centres across the country work in partnerships with local businesses and community organisations to achieve this.

HFT's Supported Employment Project in Gloucestershire has been established to meet the employment needs of people with learning disabilities in the area. We work closely with potential service users and also with employers to match the right person to the correct job opportunity. We also have other supported employment initiatives in other services and we plan to increase our work in this field.

Supported employment provides the opportunity for adults with a learning disability to have a real job working with others in the community.
