HFT provides a network of services in Stroud and near Stonehouse in Gloucestershire, for people with a learning disability. There are residential and Day Services for forty two people with a range of needs living in six houses.
Frocester Site.
This service was established in 1962 in the village of Frocester which is near the town of Stonehouse. Frocester comprises five houses and other buildings which house occupational activities. These are set within 18 acres of land and the flat nature of the site makes it accessible for easy walking or cycling.
January 2007 saw the completion of a refurbishment programme for some of the houses on the site. This resulted in the establishment of a house which provided more appropriate accommodation to support the needs of those with dementia, high support needs or mobility issues. This 10 bedded house has all bedrooms and communal rooms on the ground floor. All bedrooms include en-suite washbasin and toilet. In addition two rooms also have en-suite shower -rooms and have or can be adapted to provide ceiling hoists. The house also has two specialist bathrooms designed to help with assisted bathing.
A second house provides ground floor accommodation for 5 people who do not require such specialist moving and handling or bathing equipment.
Three other houses on the site provide a range of accommodation from standard single rooms with shared communal facilities in small groups to bedsits or flatlets for one to two people.
A range of day activities are provided on and off the Frocester site for both those who live there as well as for others who may wish to purchase this service.
