Supporting people with learning disabilities to live with more independence and choice across the north east region, including Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.
Our person-centred approach supports people to take control of their lives. We work closely with the people we support, their families and carers, and health professionals to deliver services that are personalised to individual needs. Our support workers empower the people we support to make their own choices about how they live, using our innovative Fusion model of support to keep people at the centre of everything we do.
At Hft Newcastle we support people with many different types of learning disability, and have particular experience in supporting people with Prader Willi Syndrome, autism, Williams Syndrome and people with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour.
For children and young adults, we operate Saturday Clubs based in the Ouseburn Community Centre. Activities include sports, cookery, crafts, dancing, music – and a popular tuck-shop. There are two sessions to choose from; one for 8-15 year olds, and one for 15 to 25 year olds.
Our emphasis is on creatively supporting people to live with greater levels of independence and personal fulfilment, to achieve the best possible outcomes.
With supported living, we support people to live however and wherever they choose. We can help with finding the right accommodation and with ongoing support
