Earlier this year, one of Hft’s longest and most ardent supporters, Stephen Doggett, passed away.
Stephen was the CEO of national service provider Care (formerly Self Unlimited) at the time of their merger with Hft in 2013. As his son Nicholas was also supported by Hft, Stephen had a personal connection to us and became one of our most valuable supporters. His fundraising and support was crucial to Hft and to many other charities and causes in Stephen’s local area.
Stephen’s belief in Hft was passed down to his other son Nigel who we were delighted to have on Hft’s board of trustees.
Dad helped raise funds to build several communities. Nick, my brother and Dad’s eldest son, is in supported living in Market Harborough, having been supported by Care, Self Unlimited and now Hft for over 30 years. Dad also dedicated much of his time to supporting several local charities and good causes and will be remembered for his selflessness and generosity as well as his inspirational leadership at Care.
Hft would like to take this opportunity to offer our deepest condolences to Stephen’s family in recognition of his years of tireless support for the charity and of the difference he made to the lives of so many.
