Locals are being invited to share in some seasonal goodwill as Hft presents its first Christmas concert in Worthing.

Promising to leave guests with a festive spring in their step, The Coming of Christmas is taking place at St Paul’s Worthing on Thursday 13 December. The beautiful building will be transformed by candles and fairy lights as guests enjoy music, readings and Christmas craft stalls.

Performing at the festive event is local choir Singers Rechoired. Former television and radio presenter Annabel Giles* also joins in the celebration as special guest reader. Topping off the evening is Worthing-based band Southern Dukes, who will provide live music following the concert so guests can party the night away.

Guests will also have the chance to do a spot of Christmas shopping at a range of gift and craft stalls, offering plenty of stocking fillers and unique present ideas.

All proceeds from the festive evening will go directly to Hft Sussex, ensuring that people with learning disabilities in the local area received the practical help, support and encouragement they need to live the best life possible.

Jodi Harford, Divisional Fundraising Manager for Hft said:

“Tickets are now available for this lovely Christmas evening, where family and friends can get together to start celebrating the most wonderful time of year while raising money for a great cause. We work with adults with learning disabilities to support them to live the best life possible. That can range from helping someone to find a job, make friends or adapting their home so they can enjoy new levels of independence.”

Hft supports adults with learning disabilities, providing person-centred services ranging from flexible day support to supported living at home – from a few hours a week to 24 hours a day.

Tickets cost £6 in advance, including the event programme and festive refreshments and £10 on the door. To buy your ticket, visit the event page.

About Hft

Hft is a national charity that creatively supports more than 2,200 adults with learning disabilities across England and Wales to live the best life possible. Services range from residential care to supporting people to live independently in their own homes – from a few hours a week to 24 hours a day. Hft also helps people with learning disabilities to take part in daily activities, make friends and develop relationships and to find work.

Established in 1962, Hft is funded in two ways: through local authorities, who fund vital support services, but also through donors, supporters and volunteers who enable us to find new ways to help more people to thrive rather than just get by.
