The Great North Run is the biggest and most popular half marathon in the UK. You will take to the streets of Newcastle-upon-Tyne alongside more than 57,000 other runners for this 13.1 miler, with a route that will take you through the city centre, towards the River Tyne, and across the iconic Tyne Bridge to end in South Shields. With an electric atmosphere from start to finish this is one half marathon that every runner has to experience! Remember to keep an eye out for the Red Arrows passing overhead, and let friends and family know that they might spot you on the BBC!
