Support Worker (Maternity Cover)
Temporary contract for 12 months or until the substantive post holder returns
Hours: Part-time 18 hours per week
Salary: £7.66 – £8.12 (dependent on successful completion of probation and Health and Social Care Diploma/NVQ Level 2)
As a Support Worker you will be working to our philosophy of Person Centered Active Support, empowering adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a huge range of everyday tasks and leisure activities including making choices and leading fulfilling independent lives.
You will be required to work varied flexible hours including evening and weekends. You will be required to drive Hft vehicles.
Hft offer 20 days holiday rising to 25 days after the first year, plus eight customary days, (both pro rata) a contributory pension scheme and full training and support.

This job is important because:
You will enable the people we support to lead fulfilling lives based upon their personal support needs. You need to work to the standards set internally (by Hft) and externally (for example, by the Care Quality Commission), doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and your colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive. You will achieve this by communicating with individuals and by following the underpinning principles of Person Centred Active Support (PCAS):
As we provide 24/7 support you need to be able to work shifts, including weekends, some nights and Bank Holidays. You will also be required to accompany people we support on holidays and attend training courses and other activities.
