As a Support Worker you will enable the people we support to lead fulfilling lives based upon their personal support needs.
You will join a brand new Hft staff team that is being set up to help an adult with learning disabilities move into their own home. We are about to commence this rewarding project which will change this person’s life.
Our vision is to ensure that the people we support with additional needs such as challenging behaviour are given the same opportunities as everyone else.
To be a successful Supported Living Worker having the right values, confidence and attitudes is more important than experience. Key qualities will be a natural resilience to challenges, the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies, self-motivation and most importantly the ability to be passionate about promoting independence and active lifestyles.
We also support and encourage our employees to develop their careers through NVQ courses.
For these roles you will be part of a new team who will have a specially designed induction and bespoke package of additional training as well as a dedicated manager who will coach you along the way.
Shift work including evenings and weekends and some sleep in duties will be involved. Hft offer 20 days annual leave plus 8 customary holidays (pro rata for part time staff).

Reports to: Registered Cluster Manager, Senior Support Worker
This job is important because:
You will enable the people we support to lead fulfilling lives based upon their personal support needs. You need to work to the standards set internally (by Hft) and externally (for example, by the Care Quality Commission), doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and your colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive. You will achieve this by communicating with individuals and by following the underpinning principles of Person Centred Active Support (PCAS):
As we provide 24/7 support you need to be able to work shifts, including weekends, some nights and Bank Holidays. You will also be required to accompany people we support on holidays and attend training courses and other activities.
