The Project SEARCH Job Coach role is to support young people with Learning Disabilities over a period of one academemic year. The goal is to provide three on-site work placements to enable the young people to gain the skills necessary for open paid employment and further support the same group to access long term employment.
As an Job Coach on Project SEARCH, you will need to be open to flexible working which may involve some occasional evening and weekend work.

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Job Coach at Project SEARCH delivers activities directed by the Project SEARCH programme on behalf of the Project SEARCH licence holder.
The Project SEARCH Job Coach role is to support a people with Learning Disabilities/interns over a period of one academic year as they gain employability skills in the host workplace and to further support the same group to access long term employment.
The post is full-time. During the interns’ summer break, the post-holder will undertake a range of activities to prepare for the following academic year.

Project SEARCH Wakefield is an initiative aimed at students with learning disabilities to develop skills for the work place and be supported in their search for employment. The goal is to provide three on-site work placements for young people with learning disabilities, leading to gaining the skills necessary for employment. Project SEARCH is partnership between Hightfield School, Mid Yorks Hospitals NHS Trust Pinderfields, Hft (the charity which delivers adult disability services ), Wakefield Council Council and DWP
To participate in a process to recruit a group of 12 young people as Project SEARCH Interns.

To attend and actively participate/present at regular monthly job development meetings, information/feedback events, half yearly orientation events and annual information, conferences, training events, operational meetings.
Monitoring and Reporting

The Project SEARCH is directly managed and reports to the Works Option Manager Hft in regard to day to day work activities and to the steering group and operational group.
