Location: Home based, covering the North area to include Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, Lancashire Cheshire and Leicestershire
Hours – Full Time – 35 hours per week (or as required to discharge duties)
About the Role
Hft’s property portfolio consists of residential accommodation, specialist care, day services and administration buildings. You will identify, co-ordinate and manage repair maintenance works and minor capital projects and manage landlord and tenant issues across Hft’s property portfolio.
Within the role you will make regular inspection visits to the Trusts properties to enable suitable programmes of work to be planned and to ensure good liaison and communication with the scheme managers. You will manage and supervise external contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules of work.
Furthermore you will undertake minor capital and maintenance projects as directed by the Asset Manager including preparation of sketch plans, specifications and schedules of work, obtaining quotations and tenders and supervising projects on site including determining budgets and exercising effective cost control within delegated financial authority.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be qualified at HND level in a construction related discipline with demonstrable post-qualification experience and experience in building construction or property maintenance. You will be fully conversant with general building principles and construction methods and possess demonstrable experience in cost management of sub-contractors to achieve a quality standard within time and financial constraints.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience of management of landlord/tenant issues and be confident to interpret and develop property leases.
Additionally you will be able to carry out surveys and assess remedial works required and have a proven track record of producing works schedules and specification, obtaining quotations and tenders and managing contractors on site.
You will also be able to demonstrate competency in project management methodologies and effectively manage budgets. Frequent travel is required and therefore you must have a current and valid driver’s licence and be willing to stay away from home overnight where necessary.
