Hours – Full & part-time available – 20 – 37.5 hours per week
Hourly rate – £7.83 ages 21 or over or £7.66 between the ages 18-20 – both rising to £7.86 on successful completion of probation, rising further to £8.12 on gaining Health & Social Care Diploma/NVQ Level 2

About the Service
Hft Worcestershire is currently recruiting Support Workers to join our Gaston & Dolphin House Service based in Bidford-on-Avon. Gaston & Dolphin is a registered care service that can accommodate up to nine people. Based in a rural setting, with a Day Centre, it is just a short walk to the local village facilities and amenities.
We provide support in all areas of individual’s lives from personal care, home activities and accessing leisure activities.
Our Support Workers support individuals to ensure they can participate in as much as possible, for example you may be required to support with; art therapy, sensory experiences, shopping, hydrotherapy, music therapy, visiting health professionals, relaxation, concerts, cinema, holidays and other things individuals may like to experience.
Hours for this position will range from 7.30am – 10.30pm on a rota basis, we do require staff to undertake sleep-in duty on a rota basis for which you will be paid an additional amount. This is to be available if the waking night support worker requires assistance.
You don’t need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job; you’ll get plenty of training along the way. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people with learning disabilities.

This job is important because:
You will enable the people we support to lead fulfilling lives based upon their personal support needs. You need to work to the standards set internally (by Hft) and externally (for example, by the Care Quality Commission), doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and your colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive. You will achieve this by communicating with individuals and by following the underpinning principles of Person Centred Active Support (PCAS):
As we provide 24/7 support you need to be able to work shifts, including weekends, some nights and Bank Holidays. You will also be required to accompany people we support on holidays and attend training courses and other activities.
