Senior Support Worker
The Senior Support Worker role combines support work with managing a team. As well as carrying out the same tasks as a Support Worker, you’ll have responsibility for supervising staff and volunteers across a cluster of services, encouraging and inspiring them to offer the highest standards of support.

Leading a team
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll work with a Registered Cluster Manager to train, support and manage staff teams effectively. You’ll be involved in the recruitment and induction of new employees, and will be on hand to offer advice and feedback on staff members’ interactions with the people they work with.

Standards and administration
Senior Support Worker are responsible for supporting their team to work to standards set by the Care Quality Commission, the local authority and Hft, so it’s vital that you have a good understanding of appropriate legislation.
You’ll also need to ensure that all documentation completed by your team is comprehensive and up-to-date, whether that’s risk assessments, care plans or financial records. This will require you to be confident in using and training others in IT systems and databases.
Alongside a commitment to keeping the people we support at the centre of everything, Senior Support Workers should hold a diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2, and be willing to working towards Level 3 while in post.
Since you’ll be supporting others to get out and about in the community, it’s important that you can drive and are able to use your vehicle for work.
