Leisure
Having a learning disability shouldn’t prevent you from doing the things you want to do. People we support are involved in all kinds of sports and hobbies: from DJ-ing and dance, to crafts and cooking.
Whether it’s learning a new skill, like David, or enjoying a few nights away on holiday, like Anna, we do our utmost to enable the people we support to spend time the way you choose to.
We develop relationships with local clubs and centres so that we can make the most of activities on offer in the community. In some parts of the country we run specialist projects, like our friendship and dating agency, Luv2meetU, or Hft Bradford’s transitions team for young people leaving school or college.
Where there’s no local provision, many of our services have developed onsite facilities to help people to pursue their favourite activities. It could be gardening, computer skills, crafts, learning an instrument or karaoke – if we can make it happen, we will.
Whatever the location, we do everything possible to ensure that the people we support have the opportunity to do the things that help you achieve the life you want, in the most effective way possible.
