Family Carer Workshops and Webinars

We’ve been delivering workshops for family carers around the country for over 18 years. We do this to inform family carers about the rights of their relative with a learning disability, autism, or both, as well as their own rights as family carers.

Common topics include adult social care (the Care Act 2014), the Mental Capacity Act 2005, transition from children’s to adult services, and planning for the future. We can also offer workshops tailored to the requirements of a specific group of family carers.

During our workshops you’ll get to ask questions and share your experiences with other family carers. There will also be time during breaks to talk about your specific situation. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve started offering bespoke pre-recorded webinars along with live Q&As as an alternative to our face to face workshops. Follow our Facebook page to keep up to date with upcoming sessions.

Some feedback about our workshops:

‘Very instructive – felt very comfortable in voicing concerns.’

‘They were brilliant and asked at the very beginning what we would like to talk about or what questions we needed answers to.’

‘It has highlighted so much information about the most relevant issues at the moment. Thank you for your thoroughness + professionalism + kindness.’

‘It’s helpful to know what your rights are and feel empowered.’

‘It reminds you that you are not alone and there are processes in place to support you.’
