Hft is delighted to announce the appointment of Sally Daniels as its new Executive Director of Finance and Organisational Excellence.
Sally, currently Chief Executive of disability and sight loss charity Henshaws, will join Hft in January 2027 and become a member of the charity’s Executive Team.
A qualified accountant, Sally brings extensive experience across the charitable and commercial sectors. She joined Henshaws as Finance Director in 2021 before becoming Interim Chief Executive and subsequently Chief Executive. Prior to moving into the charitable sector, Sally held a number of senior roles during a 13-year career with Zurich Insurance.
At Hft, Sally will provide executive leadership across finance and organisational effectiveness, supporting the charity as it continues to strengthen its financial sustainability, systems, data and organisational infrastructure.

Stephen Veevers, Chief Executive of Hft, said:
“I’m delighted that Sally has chosen to join Hft.
“What particularly impressed us was the breadth of experience she brings. Sally combines a strong financial background with first-hand experience of leading a complex disability charity. She understands both the opportunities and the pressures facing organisations like ours, but most importantly shares our determination to ensure that everything we do ultimately enables learning disabled people to live the best life possible.
“We have made considerable progress at Hft over recent years and we are ambitious about what comes next. Sally will bring another perspective to an increasingly strong Executive Team and will play an important role in helping us build an organisation that is financially sustainable, simpler to operate and better equipped for the future.”
Sally Daniels said:
“I am incredibly excited to be joining Hft.
“I have seen first-hand the extraordinary contribution that organisations like Hft make to people, families and communities. Hft has a proud history, a clear sense of purpose and an exciting ambition for the future, and I am looking forward to being part of that.
“I have spent much of my career looking at how strong finances, good systems and effective organisations enable people to do their best work. I am particularly looking forward to working alongside Stephen, the Executive Team and colleagues across Hft, and to getting out into services to meet the people we support and the colleagues who support them.”
Sally will take up her new role in January 2027.
