Policies

Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding adults is the process of protecting adults with care and support needs from abuse and neglect.

Hft support workers must complete training about safeguarding adults (and safeguarding children if applicable) as part of their induction, plus refresher training at regular intervals. In addition, all Hft support workers must follow our safeguarding policy.

We’re currently in the process of reviewing our safeguarding policy, and will update this page shortly with a link to our updated policy.

If you’d like to know more about safeguarding at Hft, please get in touch.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Policy

We’re committed to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do. The people we support, colleagues, trustees, volunteers, agency workers and partners from other agencies come from all walks of life. We draw upon the differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced and how we think to support learning disabled adults and all those we work with to live their best life.

Our EDI policy is designed to make sure that Hft is a diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone (both the people we support and our colleagues) feel valued, respected, and have a sense of belonging.

We commit to ensuring all our colleagues, people we support and anyone who works with or for us, will be treated fairly and with respect.

Modern Slavery Statement

Following the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, a statement is required from all organisations with an annual turnover exceeding £36 million, to provide greater awareness of the dangers of modern day slavery and to improve transparency within supply chains.

As a charity committed to care, choice and independence, we welcome this legislation and recognise the need to engage with this issue. Available to download below, Hft’s Modern Slavery Statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.
