Hft’s 2019 Annual Review
Our Annual Review is a snapshot of the great work that happened across Hft over the last financial year. It can never cover everything that’s gone on, but it aims to provide a good overview of Hft and the work we all do.
As the title suggests, we’ve gone back to the very fundamentals this year, ensuring that our staff teams’ primary focus is on delivering services that keep the people we support strongly at the centre of all we do. In particular, our focus on involvement has seen us develop a new ‘Involving People’ strategy, which sets out how we intend to further engage the people we support, so that they have the opportunity to be involved in every element of our work.
Also featured are:
- Details of the campaigning work we’ve pursued this year, including the publication of our unique ‘Sector Pulse Check’.
- Our Family Carer Support Service’s newly released ‘How to get the right support from your local authority’ resource, which provides an invaluable guide to the Care Act 2014 and other laws.
- The development of our Personalised Technology team’s consultancy service, which is helping to improve independence and choice for more people with learning disabilities than ever.
- The ‘Centre of Excellence’ status we’ve been awarded by Skills for Care in recognition of our exemplary training.
- The ‘Primary Authority’ relationship we’ve formed with Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, who advise us on fire safety management to help us maintain a consistent approach across all of our services.
- An update on how our fundraised income is enhancing the quality of life of people we support up and down the country.
Please do take the time to download and read this review. We’re proud of the work we do and we’ve achieved a lot that we’re keen to share with you.
