Drama Llamas bring Dickens to life with festive ‘Christmas Carol’ spectacular
It is the first Christmas production for Wadebridge Resource Centre’s drama group
A team of talented performers from Hft’s Wadebridge drama group are busy rehearsing for a festive production of a Charles Dickens classic.
The Drama Llamas, a drama group based at the town’s resource centre, have been learning lines and dance moves for its production of A Christmas Carol, due to take to the stage later this month.
The production will form part of a day of festive activities at the resource centre, which will include a Dickensian Fair in the morning.
The show will get underway in the afternoon and be followed by refreshments of mulled wine and mince pies.

The Christmas production follows on from the group’s successful summer showcase ‘A Night at the Musicals’ in June. The show was enjoyed by a packed audience at Wadebridge Social Club.
Money raised from the summer show has been ploughed back into the 2025 Christmas production to help pay for props and costumes.
Support worker and Drama Llamas leader Jennifer Grout-Collister said: “This will be the Drama Llamas first Christmas production and everyone is really looking forward to it.
“We have been rehearsing for several weeks now and it’s going well with the group really getting into their roles.”

Each of the club members will take on multiple roles in the show – from the Ghost of Christmas past to Bob Cratchett and grumpy miser Scrooge.
Jade, who will be in the role of the Ghost of Christmas Future, said: “I really enjoyed being part of the summer show and am excited about getting back on stage for the Christmas production.”
The Drama Llamas meet each Thursday morning to rehearse, while the afternoon session focuses on preparing props and costumes for the show.

Jennifer said: “We hope the show will make Christmas extra special for the people we support and everyone who comes along to watch it.
“It will be an afternoon full of festive fun.”
