Hft is Bristol RAG’s Charity Partner of the Year
National learning disability charity, Hft, has been selected as the University of Bristol’s RAG Charity Partner of the Year 2022/23.
The University of Bristol’s RAG (Raising and Giving) society, a student-run charitable group, do fantastic work to fundraise for and support a number of charities locally and nationally. After the society’s election, Hft is pleased to have been selected as one of the three organisations they will support through fundraising opportunities and events this academic year.
Bristol RAG’s support provides a welcome opportunity for Hft to engage a wider audience and raise greater awareness of the work the charity does to support people with learning disabilities.
Alice Devereux, Hft’s Community Fundraising Officer, shared her excitement – “We are so excited to have been nominated as one of the University of Bristol’s RAG Charity Partners of the Year. We can’t wait to team up with the Bristol RAG, putting on creative events for students to enjoy whilst raising vital funds and awareness for our wonderful charity Hft, which supports adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible.”

About Hft
Proudly established in 1962 by a group of visionary parents, Hft is a charity supporting more than 2,500 learning disabled adults in England and Wales. Together, we are creating a future where learning disabled people and their families can live the best life possible.
Providing personalised support. Creating solutions for living independently. Coming together to campaign for positive change. Fundraising for new opportunities and a bigger impact.
In 2033, we’ll live in a world where learning disabled people have greater choice. About where they live. The support they need and want. And how to spend their time and money.
Learning disability versus difficulty
A learning disability is different from a learning difficulty but the terms are often confused and used inter-changeably. A learning difficulty does not affect general intellect, whereas a learning disability is a life-long condition characterised by a reduced intellectual ability and struggle with everyday activities.
