Hft has been given a grant of £25,000 by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, and would like to say a big thank you!
The donation by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity follows 25 years of support, and will help Hft continue to provide charitably funded projects, such as Luv2meetU and our Family Carer Support Service, which are only possible thanks to fundraised and donated income. The remaining funds will be used to make sure that the army dependants supported by Hft are given the opportunity to live the best lives possible.
One of those who will benefit is Nick, who will now be able to go on holiday this year thanks to the donation. Nick talks about family holidays from years ago with much enthusiasm, remembering every detail, and this year Nick will be able to spend a few days in Lytham, St. Anne’s, with his family. With the support of the local Hft team, Nick has booked a holiday flat for this summer, and is very excited, sharing the news of his holiday with everyone.
The donation has also allowed Nick to improve his storage space, buying a new wardrobe and wall unit for his bedroom. Nick is looking forward to future furniture shopping so that he can display his favourite books and records.
Martin Rutledge, CEO, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity said:
“We are delighted to be able to provide a significant grant to Hft to help them continue their good work. The Hft work hard to support those with learning difficulties to allow them to live their best possible lives. It is comforting to know that dependants of our veterans, who need extra care in the form of supported living or respite breaks, can seek help from Hft.”
If you would like to help us support people like Nick in our goal to help improve the lives of the people we support, please consider donating.
