Your support helps us develop the specialist skills and expertise needed to provide the kind of support we believe in.

Hft was proudly established in 1962 by a group of visionary parents, and we’re now a national charity, supporting learning disabled people across England and Wales.

Local authority social care budgets have historically funded our services. But ongoing cuts have placed mounting pressure on local authorities and providers.

Today, it’s common to find that local authority budgets will cover only the basics, or funding for only those with the most complex needs. We don’t feel that is enough. We raise money for things that are no longer funded so that the people we support can thrive.

Together we can create a future where learning disabled people can live the best life possible.
