Event Type: Virtual

Distance: 25 miles

Registration Fee: £13

Minimum Sponsorship: £25

Overview

We want you in our team!

The Inca Trail is a world famous high altitude trail through Peru, starting at what is known as Kilometre 82 and culminating 25 miles later at Machu Pichu – The Lost City of the Incas. Famous for gold and the stone cities they built, the Incas were an ancient civilisation who existed in the 15th and 16th centuries – the Inca Trail traces their footsteps through the high peaks of the Andes Mountains.

Our friends at Run for Charity have taken inspiration from the Inca gold, stone and the Inca cross to create the amazing medal for their latest event – The Inca Trail.  So if you would like to get your hands on one of these Inca treasures, run or walk 25 miles for #TeamHft.

You can complete the distance in one or as many efforts as you choose.  Don’t worry, you don’t have to do it at high altitude… but if you do we’d recommend getting a group of Porters to carry you!

How it works?

1) Sign up to your race
2) Complete your run
3) Upload your evidence to virtual@runforcharity.com on completion
4) Put your feet up
5) Wait for the postman to drop off your medal

Evidence Submission

Simply take a picture of your fitness tracker, watch or any other tech device which can show you having completed your challenge and send it via email to virtual@runforcharity.com with your name, the name of your challenge (Inca Trail) and the charity name (Hft). During isolation Run for Charity will also accept daily written logs or a picture of you at the end of your challenge with your time and distance written on a piece of paper.

Why join #TeamHft?

The sponsorship you raise by trekking as a part of #TeamHft will help us empower people with learning disabilities to make their own choices, including finding a job, building friendships and relationships and taking part in activities. Every day Hft makes this happen through the support of people just like you.
