Luv2meetU events in Bristol

Luv2meetU Bristol is a social group for learning disabled and autistic adults. The aim of our group is to help you make new friends, try new things, and get out into your local community.

When you join our Luv2meetU Bristol group, you’ll get access to 10-12 small group social events and activities per month in and around the Bristol area. Everything we do is guided by our members, and you can go to as many of our events as you like.

Membership also gives you access to our national Luv2meetU online group. You can join these events for free and meet other learning disabled and autistic adults from across England and Wales. These events include things like karaoke, quizzes, and relaxed social catch-ups.

Activities you can get involved in

We do lots of different activities together as a group and it constantly changes depending on what we can find in Bristol. Some examples of events include:

• café or bar meet-ups

• trips to the cinema

• meals out

• live sports

• music gigs

• shopping

• bowling

• pub quizzes

• walks

• club nights

• anything else that members suggest.

How do I join?

Membership costs £10 per month, payable via standing order. There is also a £5 charge for each event you attend, which can be paid on the day by cash or card.

If you’re unsure about joining, you’re welcome to attend an event for free before signing up. You’ll have to pay for any direct event costs (like travel, tickets, and food/drinks), but you won’t be charged anything by Luv2meetU. We ask that you bring someone along with you for support. After signing up, you can attend events alone if you like – though you’re always welcome to bring support too.

If you’re interested in joining Luv2meetU Bristol, please email our Community Coordinator, Simon: Simon.Clarke@hft.org.uk and ask for an application form. As part of the application process, we’ll also ask for two references: one from someone who knows you personally (but not a family member), and one from a professional, such as a support worker or social worker.
