What is Remember a Charity Week?
Every September, Remember a Charity organises Remember a Charity Week to celebrate the impact leaving a gift in your Will can make to a charity. Many people aren’t aware that they can support charities in this way, but it can be a powerful way to make a lasting impact.
By being part of Remember a Charity Week 2026, we want to encourage everyone to consider leaving a gift in their Will to a charity close to their heart, such as Hft.
Here’s our page on Remember a Charity’s website.
When is Remember a Charity Week?
In 2026, Remember a Charity Week runs from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th September 2026.
What kind of gift can I leave in my Will?
There are three ways to include a charity in your Will. You can leave:
- a fixed amount of money
- a percentage of your estate
- an item or property
A solicitor will be able to help you decide which option is best for you. It’s a quick and straightforward process, but it can make a big difference.
In addition, there are certain tax benefits for doing so. Learn more about tax relief when you donate to charity
To leave a gift to Hft, you simply need to know what you want to give to Hft along with:
- the charity’s full name: HF Trust Ltd
- charity registration number: 313069
- charity address: 5/6 Brook Office Park, Folly Brook Road, Emersons Green, Bristol BS16 7FL
What impact would a gift to Hft make?
Gifts in Wills help us go above and beyond in supporting learning disabled adults to live the best life possible. By leaving a gift to Hft, you’re helping to protect vital services for years to come, giving people greater choice, independence, and opportunities.
No matter the size, every gift makes a difference. It’s a lasting way of showing your belief in a future where everyone has the chance to thrive.
Why is a Will so important?
Writing a Will is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. What’s more, it’s a lot more affordable and straightforward than you may think.
You may want a Will that ensures your assets and possessions are left to those you love when you’re no longer here. Or you might have a favourite charity that you’d like to leave a donation to.
As part of our partnership with Remember A Charity we’ve teamed up with The Co-operative Legal Services. They’re a national provider of Wills and other legal services, trusted for their strong ethical beliefs and socially responsible working. They can help you to decide which Will is right for you and can also help you to amend an existing Will to ensure that all the details are correct and current.
Your Will allows you to:
- reduce the burden on the loved ones you leave behind
- protect any assets you may have and help reduce the impact that inheritance tax and residential care fees can have upon your estate; protecting your assets for your loved ones
- ensure that all your assets are dealt with correctly, with debts paid and items going to the people you wish to receive them
What’s the right Will for you?
There are a number of ways that you can write a Will, but put simply, the available options are:
- Write it yourself: while it’s possible to write your own Will, you need to be careful that you don’t miss out something vital, as leaving out certain details could make your Will invalid – it’s strongly recommended to get it checked by a legal professional
- Use a local solicitor or Will Writer: there are many providers available and by getting your Will professionally written, you’re ensuring that everything is covered and arranged as you would like it to be
- The Co-operative Legal Services: Will writing specialists are available to provide free advice on the phone on all matters relating to changing or drafting a Will in just a matter of minutes
